Hari Anugerah vs Ataraxia

Posted by Mae Yeap at Saturday, May 04, 2013
Saw the title? Yup, it's another late post. >< Okay, let's see, these two events were held on the same day which is on 27th of April, Saturday. That Saturday was a schooling day and we were required to attend to get our certificate and prize as we got straight A's for our PMR. But we pushed that aside and went to this Ataraxia event. We were so bad as we asked Jie Lynn to represent all of us to get our prize. xD
Back to Ataraxia. The full title is actually "Ataraxia: Violence Against Women". Ataraxia is the theme which means serenity. Wondering what it is? It is an event organised by our school's Interact Club. Okay, maybe not only our school. xD It is organised by both our school and the boy school next door. This "IU Day" stands for International Understanding Day, was being held by our school for the very first time. The other school did it every year too but I never join before. To be honest, I didn't even know this event exists until I heard about it from Audrey. >< See how "katak di bawah tempurung" am I. xD

So after deciding to go and have some fun, we went to buy our entrance tickets and luckily we were "early" as they only left a few. =P The price is RM15 and it is considered expensive, but not everyone thinks that way so at least for me. For a few days before this event, we were all cracking our head thinking about what to wear to this event. As what they said, to make this event more interesting, they made this as a "White Masquerade Day". So, we are required to wear a dash of white and a mask. Everyone was discussing about our dresses in our private group. Just scroll down in the group and you will find a lot of posts about this event. It's really quite troublesome as the most common rule ( for us ) is not to dress skimpy and indecently.

On that particular day, we met at Wangsa Maju LRT station and was ready to go but do you know what happened? I LEFT MY ENTRANCE TICKET AT HOME!! Quickly, I called my dad to send it to me but it took him about 20 minutes to arrive. We rode the LRT and reached there by following the direction Kit Yee gave us. It's all my fault that we were so rush. T^T A damn scary experience. =3= But the main point is, the receptionists didn't even want to take a look at the ticket when we were at the entrance. SHOOT! We were not that late as many people arrived after us. That was quite a relieved.

Soon, the event started and then we sat there watching and chit-chatting. There was a short drama by our school's students and only some parts were quite funny. But the truth is, this whole event was quite boring. T^T After having our lunch, they had a small performance and managed to make the crowd to get high. It's actually a little bit like clubbing but not that complicated. xD Had some fun shouting and jumping here and there like a crazy with my besties. Kind of a different scene from usual. xP After that, we went back at the same time but different route as I am going to a wedding dinner with my family and aunt.
