Dissatisfaction Overloaded

Posted by Mae Yeap at Thursday, July 17, 2014
The annual singing competition organized by the Chinese Society is here again. This year, the Form 4's were appointed to handle the whole event. We thought that we could finally step down from these activities, but who knows it's us who did most of the preparation after all. The juniors were so irresponsible. I understand, they were having their exam, but they should at least make some time and get the job done, not throwing everything for the seniors to do! Excuse me, we are Form 5's, we need to prepare for our exam too, it's not only you guys who need to prepare, SPM is way more important than your school exam!

Before the actual day, the juniors were supposed to prepare the voting board. We were telling them to speed up their pace, but everything was still left undone even after a week. Fine, at least they completed it after a few times of rushing, but what they showed was a perfunctory product. Photos given by the participants were blurry, and there's even a drawing of a cartoon people to replace a photo. O.M.G. We were really speechless seeing the product. It wasn't their fault that the photos weren't good enough, but it's their responsible to tell the participants to give a clearer photo. Okay fine, forget about board. The script of emcee also they didn't prepare and at last, they spoke spontaneously and even made a mistake on stage.

Another thing is, they didn't even make an effort to promote the competition. We hear nothing about the promotion, we asked our friends and they hear nothing too, but the juniors told us that they did promoted, so where did they promote when all of us didn't know about it? It was still us who promoted it through social network. We had no choice but to help because it's already a day before the competition and there's still uncountable students who didn't know about it. Fine, I promoted, but when I asked them to help, especially Nikko, she just wrote their names in the comment and that's all. What!? Just share my status, is it that hard!? Even the Form 3's did better than them. And what did they do? Changed the name of the competition from 公主争霸战 to 公主K歌赛 then changed back again. -.-

A collage I made for promoting. Nice? xD
But unfortunately Geraldine can't make it to our event. =(

See how she "helped" me. -.-

On the actual day, they had an exam so they couldn't complete their preparation for the board on stage. Fine, we skipped our class and went down to help. And it was another perfunctory product! Urgh! Simple is okay, but it made us really speechless. Okay, we did our best to beautify it ( while complaining, because it's impossible to keep it in ), but what made us angry was their attitude. After they finished their exam, they didn't even bother about helping us and what they did was lazing around, chatting with their friends. We scolded them ( with a loud and angry voice ) and asked them to come and help, but they didn't even bother. Lee Tze Min, Upper 6, emcee of the competition but not a member of our society, came to help us instead of them. It was awkward facing him. TT And while we were decorating, we asked them to beautify it, but you know what they said? Wong Shu Hann said that she thinks it was already 'VERY NICE' even though we disagreed. And once again, we were left completing the decoration by ourselves. Cik Yap stopped by and we ( okay, me ) told her it was unfair because it was only us doing everything and she said it's okay, just help them to do. What!? Even our friend, Mandy asked us why it's still us who prepared this year's event.

Looks more okay after our effort.
If not, I really don't know what to say.
It's already the best we can do.

But when we compare it to last year's...

Finished decorating, again, it was us who prepared tables, event schedules and marking papers for the judges. It was us, who went out to wait for the judges to reach our school. It was us, who did the welcoming ceremony. It was us, who did almost everything! Doesn't care anymore, before the event started, we went to the Shell nearby our school and bought an ice cream each to cool ourselves down. After finishing, we went to sit behind the judges and watched the participants sing. Then as usual, Nicole as the guest will sing while the judges calculate their marks then announcing winners and handing out prizes. Lastly, it was the signing session.

Emcees of the day were Lee Tze Min and Nikko. Her way of emceeing was another thing that made us feel frustrated. Speaking so informal and her 'cold jokes' left the spectators speechless. And when she asked a judge to give out prizes, she rushed the judge and she was practically chasing him away. As an emcee, she shouldn't do that even though she knew the judge. After the event ended, she still asked us whether she did good emceeing or not. Audrey, straight away shoot her that she was being rude to the judges. ( Good job =P ) But teacher said nothing about them. I just don't understand why, last year she was rushing us like hell, and as a result we did a very good job, but this year, she didn't bother about them and just let them do whatever they want. Did she just doesn't trust our capabilities or she trusted them too much? I don't think I can handle them anymore, I will die of fury and frustration sooner or later. =_=

Flower given by Miss Wong, so big of a bunch. @@

I am sorry to post the photo on right, but her expression was funny, looks like crying so I couldn't refrain myself. xD

Singing with a bouquet in her hand from Chinese Society.
After finishing her song, the emcee didn't go up stage,
so she asked whether they want her to emcee? xD

Consolation prizes.

Second runner up.

That moment before first runner up and winner were announced.

First runner up belongs to Ivy and Carol burst into tears.

Winner of the day. =D

Souvenirs for the judges.

Came up with the idea of taking photo with her in the background.
( It's also counted as taking photo with her xD )

Selfies~

Group photo with the winner.

Group photo with Miss Yap.

Borrowed an album from Miss Wong to take a photo with her. xD

She saw that I was taking photos using Miss Wong's camera
and quickly made a pose. xD

We requested the teachers to follow her pose, and now her pose was separated into two parts. Haha.

A group photo of Chinese Society member with Nicole to wrap up the event.

A group of people sending her out. xD
