Syahbandar Dah Bangkit!

Posted by Mae Yeap at Tuesday, June 17, 2014
The title was supposed to be a hashtag that we promised to post in our status, but I didn't. ^_^ As you may have guessed, it is true as mentioned in the title -- Syahbandar has risen up after two years of being last! This year was a total reversal, with Temenggung as the champion and Laksamana placed last. Bendahara was the second and we were the third! So, let's see what happened on our sports day.

That morning, we went to school by 6.15 a.m. and did our last preparation. We were so worried as some of them were still not sure about their steps. I taught a few of them on the steps that they couldn't remember, at least it will help a little even though it's last minute.

Before leaving the school :

Even though we were on the bus, we were anxious throughout the whole journey. Okay, maybe not that much. =P We taught some of the steps again and again and finally settled down and relax. But there's this one thing, there wasn't anyone checking our bus pass. If that's the case, those who didn't buy can board the bus too. It cost RM6 to and fro from our school. Hmmm.

At Stadium Mini Sri Permaisuri :

Runners :

Event started with marchpast by the prefects and four houses, followed by national anthem, pledge by Tharisany, our head prefect, and lastly, speeches by the VIP and headmistress :

Hanging out, practicing before our competition and cheering for our team :

My heart skipped a beat when our teacher in charge called out for me. I was required to replace someone to run for the 100 meter. With butterflies in stomach, I ran out to the field track and immediately started stretching. It was so messy and I couldn't prepare myself. Even so, I did my best and sprinted, but then couldn't make it. ><

After the sprint, it's time for the Pergerakan Berirama to perform :

Syahbandar's Irama :

Getting milo for a break :

Finally, it's time for relay race! The first one was 4*400 meter, followed by 4*200 meter and 4*100 meter. I participated in 4*100 meter relay and unfortunately, we couldn't bring back a medal. Sad, even though I managed to run past one runner ( or maybe two, couldn't remember ). But I didn't realised it until they told me so. xD I hurt my foot too, while sprinting. =(

Runners for 4*400 meter relay :

At the end of the event, we helped to move all Syahbandar's belongings back to the bus. Well, we are always kind and helpful. Lol. Another reason we were helping out was because we don't want to go out to the field and get sunburned. xD

Get what I mean? xD :

And finally, here comes the most nerve-wracking moment. Time to announce the result! "Tempat Ketiga, SYAHBANDAR!" We were damn happy when we heard that our house was not the last anymore, as if we'd won the first prize! Well, no more disappointment this year, our very last year in this school. It sure became a great memories for us. =)
