This is my second time attending prize giving ceremony held by Setiawangsa Parliament. Remember getting our prizes for PMR high achievers and having our lunch at Flamingo Hotel, having some fun there, but this time for SPM high achievers, it has been downgraded by a lot. It was held at SK Setiawangsa and they prepared only some snacks and noodles. But still, I'm thankful. ^^
Students were wearing their uniform there and to be honest, I was a little bit jealous hahaha. Let me tell you one thing, searching for a long dress is really a hardship itself. I spent the night before ceremony, trying to figure out what I should wear to look not so formal. Wearing uniform is just so convenient. Cherish it, kids. xD
Reaching there earlier than their appointed time, I registered and met up with Kah Man who went to the Medan Selera opposite the school. We sat at the school's canteen and chatted mostly about college. I saw Vanessa afterwards and went up to chat with her for awhile. Then I was turned into a busy business woman because everyone kept calling me asking about the ceremony.
The truth is, this ceremony is only for straight A's students, but I had no idea why our school notified achievers of 5A's and above. Coincidentally, our headmistress was sitting right beside us, so Zhie Yung went to confirm with her and according to what she said, they can get their prizes as the Dato agreed so. I felt so pity for those who came and went back.
Sitting there and getting bored, we started talking and taking selfies. You know, there were like about 100 students before us. And finally, we went on stage to get the prize ( only the shell though ), and to the booth standing at the side to claim our respective certs. The Dato were asking me about my tertiary studies so it took me quite some time standing on the stage.
Short only applies to me when I'm standing next to these two. TT
Couldn't find my dad, so mum only. ^_^
Both Wei Ling and I were like "How much is in the envelope?" and she opened it up, finding RM 150 in it. Not so disappointing huh? xD All of us stayed for brunch and then went back home.
